32 HP Reeves

Cross compound Reeves steam engine. Has one 8/2×14″ high pressure cylinder, and one 14″x14″ low pressure cylinder. Steam pressure 165 pounds per square inch. 7/4″ drive gears and pinions, 24″x76″ drive wheels designed for plowing virgin sod. Reeves made engines from 13-40 h.p. and were one of the leaders in heavy engine design in the pioneer days. This engine was built in about 1908. Was used in Montana in the early days.

The Lake Region Steam School will take place June 27, 28 & 29. The first session will begin at 6:30 PM on Friday night and will conclude Sunday evening. The course will cover a variety of topics that will help prepare students to maintain and operate an engine under Minnesota state guidelines. The course will be a combination of classroom and hands on learning. The instructors will be from our show and the University of Rollag, which has held an annual steam school for a number of years.
