32 HP Reeves



Cross compound Reeves steam engine. Has one 8/2x14" high pressure cylinder, and one 14"x14" low pressure cylinder. Steam pressure 165 pounds per square inch. 7/4" drive gears and pinions, 24"x76" drive wheels designed for plowing virgin sod. Reeves made engines from 13-40 h.p. and were one of the leaders in heavy engine design in the pioneer days. This engine was built in about 1908. Was used in Montana in the early days.
