Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Dear members,

The LRPTA Board of Directors would like to take this opportunity to wish each of you a “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”.

The year 2020 is going to be a year most of us will never forget.  After having our annual threshing shows for 66 consecutive years we had to cancel our 2020 show due to the COVID-19 virus.  With no show last fall our current treasury balance has some red ink so we are taking any steps we can to reduce our negative balance.  We can save about $500 by not mailing our annual Christmas greeting.

We will be featuring Minneapolis Moline at our annual show on September 10th, 11th, & 10th, 2021.  We are also talking about having an annual meeting for the year 2020 in March 2021 and if we can have one, each member will get a notice.

Several of our members are again putting Christmas Decorations and lights on a number of our show ground buildings and they say it will be bigger and better than last year.  There are even lights up on the church steeple this year.  Turning on the lights will happen on the evening of November 28th and they will be on every evening from then through the evening of January 3rd from 5:00 p.m. until about midnight.

Our special fund drive to purchase additional show ground property had a real good year and we net the $2,500 matching challenge from Midwest Bank at Dalton and hopefully we can meet that challenge again this year.  Just a reminder that LRPTA is a 501(c)(3) organization and all donations should be tax deductible for this year if they are made before December 31st.

We hope you have a very good and healthy winter and that we will see you again on the show grounds next summer.

Season’s Greetings,

Dave Johnson,

Secretary LRPTA
